Are You Maximizing Your Safelist Use?
What kind of results are you getting from your Safelist usage? Are you getting the responses that you need? Take a look at some of the things that may be going wrong.
Emphasis on Subject Lines
No matter how great your product or service, if no one opens your email, they will never know the benefits of the services you are offering. Your subject line needs to be compelling. It must jump off the page! If most opt-in recipients are like me, they are only scanning the pages. There may be anywhere from 50 to up to 500 or more emails on a page, therefore, your message must jump out at the viewer, and capture their interest within a split second.
It's a plain fact, that it is almost physically impossible to read every single email you receive, particularly if you belong to several lists. If you're new to Safelist mailing, you may take more time reviewing emails, but after awhile, the obligation to read dwindles, and it becomes strategic. You're looking for keywords, phrases, and headings that WOW you, and believe me, most everyone else is doing the same thing.
Are You Testing Your Subject Lines
If you aren't using trackers to determine which emails are receiving click-troughs, you are making a big mistake. Our site offers tracking. Start putting these in place. This will help you determine which subject lines are getting the most attention, and which ones you need to dump or revise. Oftentimes, changing a single one or two, will make a world of difference.
Also, I will not send an email out without taking it through a headline analyzer which evaluates the Emotional Marketing Value or EMV. I keep a list of my headlines along with the score noted beside the headline. 100% is the top score, and as determined by the Advanced Marketing Education & Research Institute studies, copywriters average ratings between 30-40%, gifted copywriter headlines range between 50-75%, with perfect scores of 100% being quite rare.
The email I use to promote the uMail2Millions.com Safelist is as follows:
Score = 100% on the Headline Analyzer. Sharing this, you can believe you will be seeing this headline a lot, so I will be back to analyzing a few more safelist marketing headlines momentarily!
Try rewriting your headlines for maximum emotional values. This is one of the best free tools I have found on the internet (along with keyword generators). To test your headlines for free go here: http://www.aminstitute.com/headline/index.htm
Free Safelists vs. Paid
Don't get me wrong, there are some decent free only Safelists out there, but if the Safelist owner isn't making any money, they may not be readily available to provide the best service and upgrades. To provide and maintain a quality site takes time, and money! Also, you usually don't get the best responses from free only Safelists. Most of the participants don't want to spend any money, and most likely will spend very little on the products being offered.
Look for Free, with upgraded membership options; and put the money aside to join several paid Safelists. The benefit is that you have more frequent mailing opportunities, use of atuo-submitters, html, and often many more features, including the chance to mail to a larger email base. Many of the paid memberships will restrict the mail by free members, which is a good thing. Some free Safelists only allow mailings every 48 to 72 hours, some as infrequently as once a week, while further restricting the number of emails you can send.
Which makes more sense to you, mailing to 200 people every 7 days, or to thousands or more daily?
Have you put your auto-submitter to work for you?
With any Safelist you join, look for auto-submitter features. The time you will save posting your message on sites with these features is tremendous. The uMail2Millions Safelist will auto send your message for up to 30 days. The Safelist market is strictly a game of numbers; the more safelists you can submit to automatically, will create the opportunity for better results. Imagine trying to submit to a 1000 Safelists manually.
Maximize Those Credits
Are you taking advantage of credits available from many Safelist memberships. By clicking on the credit links, you're not only earning credits or points towards future mailings; in some cases you even earn credits for banner ad placements. This increases your own product and site visibility through increased mailng opportunities and larger viewing audiences. Don't bypass those credit links.
Review Your Emails Daily
Don't let the dreaded bounce happen, otherwise you will find yourself wasting valuable time trying to get reinstated to lists that have deleted you. Scan through your emails daily, and clean out your email boxes frequently. I was busy for three days, forgot to set the vacation mode, and found nearly 20,000 emails in one mailbox. I probably have over 20 different email addresses for all my businesses, and when a mailbox is over run, it tends to make one a little crazy. Overflowing mailboxes will make you reach for the delete button a lot faster as well. There is one email provider that is not only reasonably priced, but provides a great tool that deletes all your emails each night. Click this link to get information about this email service: www.urlfreeze.com/Tools4u/L-66c2/
Also, the free service offered by Google's gmail accounts will let you delete the whole lot with a click or two, which is also quite handy. You can sign up for your free email account at: https://www.mail.google.com
Overloaded Emails
I don't know who started putting a dozen ads into one email; but for some unbeknownst reason, many folks have jumped into this practice. Big mistake! Emails are beginning to look like classified advertising pages, with all kinds of stuff tossed into one email. Most people don't want to spend a lot of time in an email.
Keep your emails, short and to the point. Focus on one item, and avoid overloading your emails. I would recommend staying under 3 separate items, preferably one. You want click-troughs, not confusion. Sometimes, offering two many choices will make a person avoid making any choice at all. It's a lot easier to click the link in a simple email, then to have to decide which link you want to go to.
Have you made any money with Safelist mailings? Maybe not yet, but can you? You bet! Safelist marketing is a numbers game, there is no if, and, or but about it! Success is solely based upon how many people see your ad period! How many people click your links, and how many people are persuaded to make the purchase. The more people that see you emails, the better chance you have of making a sale. With emailing, it may take 50,000-100,000 people seeing your ad repeatedly to generate one or two customers or subscribers.
Your messages must be consisted, and must go out daily. The most important keys to your success will be "Attention Grabbing Headlines, Consistency, Luring Message Body Content, and equally Luring Site Content".
Combining all of the above, with a good product, will result in eventual sales and success!
Much Prosperity!

Did you know that...?
Many people never revisit a website after the first initial visit... Most people don't buy on their first visit... Website visits that actually turn into a sale, or where an email is given amounts to a very small percentage...
Wouldn't it be nice if everyone that visited your site took action the first time? Unfortunately, the stats paint a much different picture. So what do you do to promote repeat contact, and generate sales?
Don't leave it up to your visitors to return to your site, you need to drive them back. Give them something to do on your site, or offer them quality freebies.
Invite them back... Remind them to come back to your site.
Use search engines to drive visitors to your site.
Make sure you capture email addresses so that you can contact your visitors again.
Use easy to remember domain names. If your domain name is too complicated, visitors may not remember how to get back to your site even if they want to.
More importantly, is your site interesting? Do the pages load easily? Slow loading pages are the number one turn-off.
Keep load times under 10 seconds or less; you can do this by reducing graphics on one page to not more than 4-5 images.
Is your site attractive? You want it to look good but it doesn't have to be fancy, some plain sites make more money than the high priced fancy ones.
Key point: "What is the message? Is it a powerful selling tool? Do your key points stand out, or does the prospect have to read through a lot of stuff to get to the main points? Something, most fast-paced internet entrepreneurs will not do.
Limit the font types used on one page. Arial or Helvetica are good headline choices, while Times Roman or Verdana are good body copy choices.
Avoid fancy text that is hard to read.
Use simple ordering methods, don't give customers a chance to change their mind because of lack of ease in ordering. It's hard enough to get them to pull out their credit cards in the first place.
And constantly check your site for errors.
Putting all of the above practices in place, will open the doors for greater online profits and success!
But above all else... Support your uMail2Millions membership partners by visiting their sites on a regular basis.

"How To Avoid The Dreaded Spam Filter" Great marketing begins with great products, and even greater subject lines.Unfortunately, you can have both, and still find your marketing efforts stopped in cyber-tracks by spam filters.Spam filters are relentless, automatic, and operate on many levels, from ISP to desktop firewalls. They will attack your messages like a plague, tossing them into junk and spam box heaven, or rejecting them all together.
There are certain hot-buttons, ?words, characters, and numeric symbols? that activate spam filters. If your subject line contains any of the hot button words, your great product and message may wind up never being seen by your prospects.Unfortunately, even with opt-in mailers, some systems are still triggered by these hot button words, and your mail is kicked into junk folders. Competition in Safelist mailings is tough, and will continue to get tougher as more people spill into this type of marketing method.
Internet World Stats, which compiles usage and population data indicates that worldwide (2007 figures), there are 6,574,666,417 internet users, with 2,042,963,129 being English Speaking.Wow.That?s a lot.A lot of competition, but a lot of potential money to be made as well. Capturing the interest of your opt-in viewing market is becoming harder and harder, so what do you do?How do you remain creative and inventive, without being subject to the "Attack of the filters"?
Familiarize yourself with the "Trigger Words" and characters. These filters look for specific key phrases, and characters. They not only check the To and From addresses, but they also rummage through the subject lines andbody of the message.Wrap your messages into protective force shields by doing the following:
Avoid using symbols such as dollar signs.$$$ these are absolute no-no's.
Avoid or limit the use of all caps (seen as screaming or yelling), question marks, exclamation points,or apostrophes.
Limit the use of certain words, for example if you use the word free, don't repeat it throughout you message, and don't use all caps (FREE).Never begin your message with the word Free.Whenever possible, avoid using the word free in certain phrases, such as free preview, free access, free leads, free today.
Avoid font sizes over 2+ or bigger.
Avoid the use of background colors. Background in an HTML that isn't white can end up being blocked. It is important to keep html simple.Avoid thick borders.
Avoid the use of custom font colors.Use safe font colors, those in the palette of standard software and web package colors. You don't have to abandon color, but black fonts are the safest.
Make sure your hyperlinks include http://.Links without this in your body message racks up spam points.
Avoid subject line terms such as: Adv, or advertisement.
Avoid using digits among the first 8 characters of from address; or phrases such as, while supplies last, while you sleep, what are you waiting for.
Believe it or not, even words such as Remove or Unsubscribe can be triggers.Due to the Cam Spam Act, you are legally required to have some type of removal language in your emails.Try something like this instead:

Not sure which word to substitute, try the Thesaurus program on your computer for words with similar meanings.
Some people think masking your wordsisa bit harebrained, however, it does work.I've used cloaking with Craigslist, and have posted my messages in several states by using this simple technique.
Try cloaking your words for example, free becomes ~free~ or fre^e, fre*e; millions becomes ~millions~, or #millions#,mil*lions.
Safelist Reaching ~millions~ Join for fre*e.
Will this work all the time?Spam filters are becoming more sophisticated every day, and some may be programmed to look for these characters in place of vowels, but until I know for sure, I will continue to try these techniques in my messages.
The key is to track your responses to see which subject lines and messages are receiving the most hits.Make the best of your marketing efforts.Take the time to review your subject lines and messages against this information before sending them out.Trashed messages=loss revenue, so make sure you at least try to avoid observable triggers. - JVon

Getting stung by a scam is an emotional pain rather than a physical one, but it can cause a significant amount of hurt as well.
I'm sure that almost every one has at one time or another gotten stung by the promise of wealth from get-rich-schemes. Savvy promoters know exactly what words to dangle in front of us; they prey on a broad range of emotional vulnerabilities, that can include desperation, fear, hopelessness, ego, greed, and a host of others.
The idea of fast money or overnight wealth is appealing at best to almost anyone; with people from all walks of life falling under the spell of persuasive ad copy. The promoter of a scam does not care who you are; race, age, and background are unimportant, their only goal is to separate you from your money.
The types of Scams that are being perpetuated run amok across the internet, and vary in the degree of harm or damage they can cause. Loosing $25. may not seem like a lot, but coupled with another's $25., and another, until the numbers are in the 100s, 1000s, or 100,000s, means that someone is profiting greatly on deceit and lies.
Scams range from outright fraudulent and illegal activities, where the seller has no intention of delivering the product to the purchaser; to areas that may not cross the line to being illegal, but rip you off with poor service and misleading promises.
Point in case, rip-offs that make you believe you are a shining star of talent, as in some bogus Poetry competitions that have moved from the printed page, to online solicitations. They invite poetry submissions, then send out boiler plated congratulatory letters proclaiming "You've Won!" They tell you that your poem has been selected over hundreds of others to appear in an upcoming anthology, that will be distributed worldwide. The same letter is sent to everyone that submits a poem. Your poem will be listed for free, "but"... if you would like to see it in print, the copy will cost you $150. Better yet, a gold-plated, personally engraved bound copy will cost you only $250. It could be the worst poem in the world, but for those easily duped, with fragile egos, the idea of being published and seeing their work in print, makes them even more gullible.
With the explosion of the internet, the proliferation of internet scams have soared, and you can find bad players in almost every aspect of the industry. The lures... are like sweet nectar, drawing you in like the honey in a hive draws the bee, and are aimed at hard working, everyday folk who simply yearn for something more, something better. The 'pot-of-gold' at the end of the rainbow... the big lottery win... the million dollars in less than one year...or the "I made $3,700 in 24 hours." How do you not become so beguiled by the exaggeration and lies, when you hear so many people declaring that "they did it?!"
I've always considered myself a fairly intelligent person, and certainly not a greedy one; yet when it came to the internet and the lure of wealth, I became gullible and found myself falling under the spell as well. Looking back, I realized that I was easily persuaded when I really didn't have the money to spend. Being financially strapped, makes one even more vulnerable, it is during this time that you are even more desperate for the miracle to happen, and common sense may become clouded by desperation.
It was only after I took two months away from my internet business to research, study and learn, learn, that I was able to better understand why, I like many others was so easily duped by these advertisements. I had to stop and think about all the things I was doing wrong.
How many of you have also been taken? Do you have a scam that you would like to share? If so, we'd like to hear about your experiences, and I'm sure others would as well. How To Pick A Kick-Butt Book Title
Why do some book titles explode off the page like fireworks while others fizzle only to go completely unnoticed?
The answer is that many people create titles based upon their personal emotions, rather than from time tested
principals and techniques. The title is the most important aspect of any writing. It is the seduction, the anchor that
draws the reader in. It has to create that initial spark of interest that will make the buyer stop in their tracks and reach
for your book over all the others. It has to literally kick butt!
The biggest hurdle in your marketing campaign will be to capture the attention of the public. You may have a well
written, thoroughly comprehensive book, possibly the next best seller, but if no one opens the cover, or downloads
your book, they will never realize its content or value. Your book could be sitting on the shelf of a Barnes and
Noble®, or making its way across the internet, either way, you are in competition with millions of others hoping to do
the same thing... lure the reader in like bait.
If you only had a split second to catch the eye of a potential prospect, you need to consider this question,
Does your title sound "BIG" enough to make the reader believe they can gain "BIG" results from your
book? Your title should cause an impulsive reaction, while simultaneously answering one of the following questions:
What help does it offer the reader?
What questions does it answer?
What does it tell the reader?
Will the reader be fulfilled?
What benefit does it offer?
What does it teach?
What hope does it deliver?
What promise is it making?
Equally, the title should be a window to the contents of the book. It must speak to the reader and say... “open me”
and... you will “learn, gain, or receive” the following.. .
When considering your title, think about how you can combine power and allure, with impact and clarity. While your
title should stand-out, it should also send a clear message about the contents, without confusion or guess work. Take
a look at the two following examples. The first title is a book currently listed on ebook.com. Both titles are catchy, both
stand out:
Big Womens Undies and Biker Beards
While this title clearly stood out and was quite different. My first reaction was curiosity, then confusion. The content or
story line offering was unclear. I simply had no real clue about the actual contents based upon the title alone, just wild
speculations... “bikers, women... bikers and big women... undies? Huh?!”
The book description reveals that it is “a collection of two peoples experiences, a satirical adventure about taking the
time to look past the goggles and big women's undies without judgment or fear, thus avoiding the looming
potholes,” (of life?). The problem is that someone looking for self-help, (as the description further states
“preconceptions are like bugs on our goggles and judgment is just another pothole in the road;”), would most likely
move right past this title, even though it might offer a whimsical and informative take on life. Referencing the previous
questions, the title falls outside of answering any of them.
As a pet lover, the second title popped off the shelf for me... “How To Make A Dog Smile”
The title was humorous, and it falls within a few of the question categories above. It suggests an offering of help or
instruction, “How To;” as well as a potential benefit, a “happy dog”. It was in fact, a collection of head shots of dogs of
varying breeds and sizes, smiling wildly with humorous references and annotations. If my dog didn't smile wildly as a
result of this book, I sure did on my way to the cash register.
Keeping in mind that the title should always relate to the content, there are five main categories for structuring good
titles.
Use of “Power Words”
Power words .. words such as Secret! Revealed! Power! Money!, receive millions of hits daily by people lured to the
internet in search of hope and answers behind these words.
Companies spend thousands in advertising and marketing dollars to develop ad copy incorporating “Power Words”;
equally, big dollars go to pay-per-click engines in a quest to capture the interest of people drawn in these words.
Examples:
Calculating The Secrets of Life
The Secret Formula For Creating Best Selling Titles
Short Sale Secrets Revealed
Use of the “How To”...
How-to's offer instruction; or give practical advice to a reader. on almost any topic imaginable. They can also paint a
picture or describe how someone else may have accomplished their own personal goal, and include suggestions
that could be emulated.
Examples:
How P.T. Barnum – Made Millions
How To Be A Motivational Manager
How To Live Abroad
Use of the “Benefit” Titles...
Here the reader perceives that the book, will enhance their well-being or life in some way... possibly through
instructions, suggestions, or solutions that may lead to good health, wealth, or happiness.
Examples:
Think and Grow Rich
The Power of Wellness
Mind Over Matter
Use of Successive Words or Alliterations
This is where the same letters at the start of two are more words are used in the title.
Examples:
War of the Worlds
Talks on Talking
Pride and Prejudice
Use of Rhymes
Used with humorous or fun content, rhymes are used in contents geared to capture the attention of readers in both
adult and children's writings.
Examples:
Let's Make Money Honey
Zeus on the Loose
Itsy Bitsy Spider
Some titles will fall into more than one category, as in the example of the title “The Power of Wellness” above, which
includes a “Power Word”, but also falls under the “Benefit” category, and “Mind Over Matter”, falling under the successive category as well. Identify the category that your content falls under; it may be one or more. Next,
brainstorm.
Begin with a few words on a blank piece of paper, and start linking keywords, thoughts, and short sentences. Pull
together all the power words that you can think of, along with descriptive words and phrases.
Play with the words, changing them around. Be creative and unique. Come up with your own branding rather than
playing off of other titles or slogans. How many other ways can you say the same thing? Repeat the titles over and
over again. Once you have developed several title options, conduct a title search under Goggle search engine to
see it the same title comes up, in order to avoid using one that someone else already has. A title that closely
resembles another, may cause your prospective customers to be redirected to the wrong website.
A good title will always emerge from the contents of good writing, you just have to keep at it until the right one
People put a lot of emphasis on keywords. However, it's not about the single word, it's more about the "KEY PHRASES". You will not get the high rankings that you desire by simply plugging single words. Instead, use short phrases to capture your audience. Begin by thinking from the buyers perspective. What would someone looking for your product or service type into the search engines? Then make a list of short phrases containing 2-5 words. Apply the same concept of developing a good book title to developing powerful key word phrases.
If your product is specific, then you should address this in your keyword phrases, otherwise, the search is not narrowed enough. For example, "sunglasses for men" or " designer sunglasses"; or "homes for rent in San Francisco". If you were looking for a car, you would not plug in the word car in the search engine, you would instead want to complete a more narrowed search, such as "2007 Chevy Malibu", or "Used Car Dealers in Milwaukee".
For a ton of great articles and information, type in "improving your search engine ranking" in your search engine, and watch what pops up.
